Visual Rhythms, Dialogues in Abstraction

"Form itself, even if completely abstract...has its own inner sound."

Wassily Kandinsky

Weinstein Gallery is proud to present Visual Rhythms: Dialogues in Abstraction. Featuring over fifty paintings, sculptures, and works on paper created by twelve of the early innovators and evangelists of abstraction, this exhibition explores the rich and complex relationship between art, spirituality, and music.

During the early 20th century, a new art emerged that broke with traditional representation and embraced abstraction. Artists began to explore the use of form, color, and line to create works that were not intended to represent recognizable objects but rather to evoke emotions, sensations, and ideas. Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of music, the spirituality of nature, and the abstraction of form, these artists sought to create a new visual language that could express the inexpressible, creating revolutionary and timeless works.

Visual Rhythms invites you to experience the vibrant energy and rhythm of this era's abstract art and to delve into the fascinating dialogue between art, music, and spirituality during this transformative period in art history.
