"When I paint, I open the door. . ."
—Anne Bachelier
Jeux des masques, Oil on canvas, 39 ½ x 39 ½ inches, 2009 Weinstein Gallery is extremely pleased to present an exhibition of the recent work of Anne Bachelier. These new paintings represent the continuation of her magical multilayered worlds, innerscapes whose ambiance and nuance speak to their maker's creative vision. These are not falsified, make-believe places; this is a world that exists in time and space for those viewers who pause to enter and explore. These works also are testament to the fact that Bachelier is painting with the most confidence and maturity of her career. The result is an unprecedented ease and calmness which pervade the paintings, allowing the viewer to connect with them emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Anne Bachelier was born in 1949 in Louvigné-du-Désert, France. She studied art at the École des Beaux-Arts, La Seynesur-Mer, graduating in 1969.
